Apple Rehab Shelton Lakes is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in meal prep and dining area support within our skilled nursing community in Shelton, CT. You will help with receiving, rotating, and storing supplies, and interact daily with residents, ensuring cleanliness and safety in all food service areas.

Positions include Full-Time, Part-Time 3:30pm–7:30pm, and Per Diem options. Applicants should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and communicate effectively in English; infection control and

• Ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights and to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to write and record data, and read and follow instructions in English.

• Professional interaction with residents, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal and snack preparation and dining area cleanup.
• Receive, rotate, and store supplies and food.
• Provide daily interactions with residents and support dining services.
• Ensure food storage areas are clean and safe, following sanitation rules.
• Report safety or sanitation violations to supervisor promptly.

Dietary Aide

The Dietary Aide assists in preparation of meals and snacks as well as clean up of dining areas. Assists with receiving, rotating and storing of supplies and food. The Dietary Aide has daily interactions with the residents of our community. Helps to clean work areas, wash dishes, pans and utensils.

The Dietary Aide complies with infection control, safety and sanitation functions of the facility. Ensures that food storage and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner, and that equipment and supplies are properly maintained. The Dietary Aide handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations, and reports immediately all violations of safety or sanitation rules to supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Ability to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop and stretch.
• Ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights and to lift large items up to 50lbs.
• Ability to write and record data, to read and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in cases of emergency.
• Ability to communicate with residents, staff, family members in a professional manner.
