Job summary

Meadowview Terrace of Wadesboro is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and support nutritious meals for residents. You will assist with meal prep, portioning, serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience in a community-focused setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of food safety, and strong communication and teamwork skills to help provide compassionate care to residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required)
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and requests
• Sanitation & cleanliness: maintain kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment
• Resident support: assist with meal setup, serving, and dining experience
• Food safety: follow safety protocols in storage, handling, and sanitation
• Inventory support: receive/store items, check stock, notify shortages
• Team collaboration: work with dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen/dining operations
• Resident engagement: fulfill special dietary requests and respect preferences during meals

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
