Job summary

Southwest LTC is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with meal preparation, serving, and delivery within our facility. You will support dietary staff, follow approved menus and dietary specifications, and help maintain a clean, safe dining environment.

The role emphasizes proper portioning, accommodating special diets, and compliance with safety, infection control, and facility protocols. Prior food service or healthcare experience is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is acceptable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Experience in dietary services, food service, or healthcare is preferred.
• Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and serving according to approved menus and dietary specifications.
• Deliver meals to residents in a timely and courteous manner.
• Ensure proper portion sizes and accommodate special diets, allergies, or texture modifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, kitchen, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and reporting shortages.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and facility protocols.
• Provide friendly, respectful interaction with residents during meals and snack service.
