Job summary

Alaska Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Dietary Aide to deliver meals from preparation to residents’ tables, assist with beverages, condiments, and table setup. You will also bus tables, reset dining areas, and ensure residents are satisfied with menu items.

Responsibilities include serving meals, maintaining hygiene, and supporting a clean dining environment. Must have a high school diploma, read and speak English, and hold a Food Handler’s card where required; flexible

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Food Handler’s card where required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position.

• Pour beverages per resident choice as residents are seated for each meal.
• Ensure condiment containers are clean and filled.
• Obtain meal selections from residents and relay to cook.
• Deliver filled plates to tables.
• Serve meals in courses and clear dishes between courses.
• Run the dishwashing machine and maintain infection control standards.
• Wash, rinse and sanitize tables and chairs.
• Reset tables after meals.

Job Summary

Alaska Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Dietary Aide to deliver food from the area of preparation to the residents at their tables and/or apartment. The position will be responsible for ascertaining that the residents are satisfied with the menu items, providing beverages and re‑fills as needed as well as providing condiments and other items the resident may request. The position is responsible for bussing tables, changing table linens and resetting tables following meal service as well as pouring beverages and setting up tables prior to each meal service.

Essential Functions

• Pour beverages per resident choice as the residents are seated in the dining room for each meal.
• Ensure that condiment containers are clean and filled.
• Obtain meal selection from resident and deliver meal selection to cook for service.
• Deliver filled plates to tables.
• Serve meals in courses, removing soiled dishes from one course before providing next.
• Run dishwashing machine.
• Maintain infection control standards.
• Wash, rinse and sanitize tables and chairs.
• Reset tables.

Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations.
• Food Handler’s card where required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Education or experience sufficient to meet position requirements or as required by State regulations.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position.
