Primary Responsibilities

The Dietary Aide is responsible for the preparation, service, and cleanup of meals for assigned Assisted Living and Terrace areas.

• Prepare meals in accordance with ordered diets, preferences, and special needs with attention to food production requirements
• Serve meals in accordance with the established menu and consideration for the individual resident food requirements using established standards for handling hot/cold menu items
• Set up and load the food delivery carts for all meals
• Clear tables and collect the service ware and transport to the dish machine
• Operate and deep clean equipment in the main kitchen and Assisted Living / Terrace kitchenettes and/or dining rooms

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read and understand the Diet Roster for Assisted Living/Terrace residents in the Assisted Living and Terrace dining areas
• Ability to perform dietary functions in a health care setting
• Ability to perform duties in compliance with established Universal Precautions, fire safety, infection control and sanitation procedures, and state & federal regulatory requirements
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Ability to pass DSHS background check, required

Education and Experience

• High School or GED, required
• First Aid and CPR certified or able to obtain within 30 days of hire, required
• Food Handler’s Certificate or able to obtain within 14 days of hire, required
• Must meet L I minimum age requirement of 18 years old to operate kitchen equipment
• Previous experience as a dietary aide in a healthcare setting, preferred
