Job description

Centre Care is a state of the art, Rehabilitation and Wellness Facility, dedicated to our community and providing advancing medical care and services through a resident centered care approach for individuals in need of recovery after a hospital stay, sudden onset of illness, injury, effects of surgery or for those in need of care related to chronic disease management. We are currently looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and energetic Dining Aide to join our Centre Care team. Providing you with competitive pay, shift differential pay, and a generous benefits package.

Duties Include:

  1. Operating ovens, blenders, steamers, steam tables, slicers, kettles, coffee machines, toasters and transporting food carts.
  2. Reviewing menus and production sheets to determine type and quantity of all foods to be prepared and adjusting recipes to meet therapeutic diets and quantity as instructed.
  3. Using manual ware washing sink and keeping sanitation at appropriate levels.
  4. Storing supplies and keeping stockrooms neat and orderly.
  5. Assisting other employees with putting stock away, as well as preparation and service of food for special activities.
  6. Utilizing kitchen equipment as instructed and required.
  7. Attending meetings, training and in-service as required.
  8. Performing other job-related work as necessary. Aiding cooks in washing, trimming, cooking, seasoning, portioning and serving of food for the residents.
  9. Assembling and portioning a variety of menu items.
  10. Setting up food trays and delivering to units; keeping dining rooms and units’ supplied with food and beverages.
  11. Working in dining rooms as a server and host.
  12. Cleaning dining rooms and related areas.
  13. Assisting residents in dining rooms as necessary.
  14. Preparing desserts, salads, gelatin, etc., according to standardized recipes.
  15. Cleaning kitchen and dining areas and equipment.
  16. Sweeping and/or moping kitchen areas.
  17. Operating a dish machine, cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen equipment.

Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or its equivalent is preferred.

Experience: Two years of dining services experience is preferred but not required.

Other: Able to work holidays and weekends as scheduled.
