Job summary

River Crossing Rehab & Healthcare is seeking dietary aides to join the Dietary team, ensuring smooth operation of the dining rooms and kitchen areas and enhancing patient care.

We offer advancement opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package with hands-on upper management. This role includes day and part-time night shifts, with a 7a–3p Dietary shift and weekend considerations.

Qualifications

• Friendly, approachable communication with residents and staff.
• Able to read and follow menus, instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Must be physically capable of standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dining rooms and tables for meals.
• Provide meal service to residents and maintain cleanliness of dining and kitchen areas.
• Deliver meals to resident rooms as scheduled and ensure orderliness of dining spaces.
• Assist cooks and Dietary Manager as directed.
• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory in a sanitary environment.
• Maintain and clean dining equipment and utensils; dispose of leftovers properly.
• Attend mandatory trainings and department meetings.

• Day shift Sunday - Thursday
• Part time night shift

Dietary Shift: 7a - 3p

Dietary Aide - Essential Functions:

The Dietary Aide helps prepare dining rooms and tables, provide meal service to residents and maintains cleanliness and sanitation of dining and kitchen areas.

• Delivers meals to resident rooms at designated times and sets up tables or other dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order.
• Maintain a clean dining areas & dishes using appropriate procedures, discard leftovers & empty trash.
• Understand and follow color coding and abbreviations of tray cards and therapeutic menus.
• Assists the Cook and Dietary Manager as directed.
• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory.
• Helps maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Attend all mandatory in-services, educational trainings and department meetings.

Requirements:

• Friendly with good communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents.
• Ability to read.
• Meet physical demands – stand, sit, walk extended lengths of time, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds
• Food service experience preferred
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines a plus
• Must have Hip A Vaccination
