Avalon Health Care Northpointe in Spokane is seeking a dependable Dietary Aide to join our outstanding team. This full-time role includes varied shifts with weekdays and weekends and pays $19.00/hr.

Responsibilities include dishwashing, food prep, serving, and maintaining clean kitchen and dining areas. Requirements include a Food Handler’s permit/ServeSafe certification, English reading/writing, and the ability to relate positively to residents and coworkers.

Qualifications

• Must have Food Handler’s permit/ServeSafe certification.
• Must read, write and follow directions in English.
• Able to relate positively to residents and coworkers.
• Must pass drug screen and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in washing and sanitizing dishes.
• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen/dining areas.
• Ensure plate and hot base lowerator and steam table are properly heated.
• Ensure accurate serving portions and items on each tray before loading to the cart.
• Use appropriate serving utensils and monitor temperatures; log temperatures.
• During tray line, garnish trays and ensure silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and dry.
• After tray-line, record any excess/shortage and discuss with supervisor.

**Placement within the wage range for this position is determined by years of experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions.**

Responsibilities

• Assist in washing and sanitizing dishes.
• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator is heated, steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure that accurate serving portions and food items are on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure that appropriate serving utensils are used; ensure that temperatures are within standards (all temperatures are logged and reviewed prior to tray-line).
• During tray line, ensure that the trays are garnished, neatly arranged, silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and plate covers are dry.
• After tray-line, check and record excess/shortage preparation, discuss with the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Food Handler’s permit/ServeSafe certification as per state requirements.
• Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other employees.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
