Job summary

Lakeshore Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Slidell, LA is seeking a Dietary Aide to support food preparation, service and dining area sanitation. Split shifts available; must work weekends and holidays. Pay is $11.00/hr with benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities include ensuring proper temperatures, portions, and cleanliness; maintaining records and collaborating with the supervisor to ensure quality service.

Qualifications

• Must have Food Handler's permit/ServSafe certification per state requirements.
• Must read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Must relate positively to residents and work cooperatively with staff.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background check and reference inquiry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining sanitary kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and base hot equipment are heated and steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure accurate serving portions and items on each tray before loading to food cart.
• Ensure proper serving utensils and temperatures are logged and within standards.
• During tray-line, garnish trays, arrange neatly, and ensure silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and dry.
• Post tray-line, record excess/shortage and discuss with supervisor.

Part Time & Full Time Positions OPEN

Schedule:

Split shift – 4 days on 2 off, 6a – 230p & 11a – 730p and 4 days on 2 days off, 6a-2p.

• These are full-time positions, hours. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator are heated, steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure that accurate serving portions and food items are on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure that appropriate serving utensils are used; ensure that temperatures are within standards (all temperatures are logged and reviewed prior to tray-line).
• During the tray line, ensure that the trays are garnished, neatly arranged, silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and plate covers are dry.
• After tray-line, check and record excess/shortage preparation, discuss with the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Food Handler's permit/ServSafe certification as per state requirements.
• Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other employees.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
