Position Summary: The Dietary Aide performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department and is accountable to the Dietary Manager. In absence of the Dietary Manager, the Dietary Aide is accountable to the Cook.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate and previous institutional dietary service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Numerical accountability for recipe preparation and measuring cleaning agents; good motor coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including during emergencies; patience and tolerance towards staff, residents, and family members.

Duties:

• Perform work routines using dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist the cook in meal preparation and service.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow federal and state regulations, and facility policies.
• Perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts, and serving meals.
• Set up dining areas and serve residents.
• Wash and store dishes.
• Report supply, equipment needs, and any safety issues.
• Assist in receiving and storing food supplies.
• Follow fire and disaster plans during drills and emergencies.

Follow infection control policies, treat residents with kindness and respect, report grievances, comply with HIPAA, accept duties cooperatively, and maintain sanitation and safety standards.
