Job summary

The Landings of Rockingham is seeking an enthusiastic Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents at The Landings of Rockingham.

As a full-time, on-site Dietary Aide, you will assist with meal preparation, service, sanitation, and safety while supporting residents' dietary needs and preferences. A high school diploma and strong customer service are valued; comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a food service role is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance to residents: prepare, portion, and serve meals according to dietary plans.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment.
• Provide meal assistance to residents during setup and service for a positive dining experience.
• Follow all food safety protocols, including storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies; notify dietary manager of shortages.
• Collaborate with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Fulfill residents' special dietary requests and preferences during meals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
