Job summary

The Landings of Georgetown is seeking aDietary Aide to join our culinary team and assist in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will help prepare, portion and serve meals according to dietary plans and special requests.

We value compassionate individuals with good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a supportive senior living environment. Prior food service experience is helpful, and a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience in a food service role is a plus but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance and help with meal setup and serving to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols including storage, handling and sanitation.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food, checking inventory, and notifying manager of shortages.
• Team Collaboration: Work with dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Resident Engagement: Fulfill special dietary requests and respect residents' preferences during meals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.

Qualifications:
