Job summary

The Dietary Aide at LCS (Life Care Services) is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to Health Center residents in Plymouth, MN, ensuring meals meet posted dietary orders. This full-time role supports a team delivering high-quality resident care and sustains a clean, safe dining environment.

Responsibilities include preparing desserts/salads, serving meals, maintaining dining areas, and transporting foods and supplies within the Health Center, all while adhering to safety

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Previous experience in food service, restaurants, retail, customer service, or a similar hospitality setting preferred.
• Experience in senior living, nursing homes, hospitals, or healthcare settings is a plus.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow instructions, understand dietary orders, and communicate effectively with residents and team members.
• Willingness and ability to learn Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, medical diets, food allergies, and dietary restrictions.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure meal orders are accurate and residents' dietary needs are met.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful when interacting with older adults.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and workflows in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented, with a commitment to providing excellent resident service.
• Ability to consistently report to scheduled shifts on time.

Other Duties:

• Maintains standards for personal appearance and cleanliness.
• Maintains safe and sanitary conditions.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Requirements

Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; lifting weight requirement will not be more than 50 lbs. unassisted.

All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a criminal background check, drug test, tuberculosis skin test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.
