Job summary

Apple Rehab is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide for our Berlin, CT community. The role supports meal prep, snack service, and dining area cleanup, with daily resident interactions.

You will handle food storage, sanitation, and comply with safety rules; lifting up to 50 lbs, and maintain clean work areas. Benefits offered for 30+ hours per week are included.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop and stretch.
• Ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights and to lift large items up to 50lbs.
• Ability to write and record data, to read and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in cases of emergency.
• Ability to communicate with residents, staff, family members in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of meals and snacks and clean up of dining areas.

Job Description:

12:30p-7p, 20 hours per week

Dietary Aide

The Dietary Aide assists in preparation of meals and snacks as well as clean up of dining areas. Assists with receiving, rotating and storing of supplies and food. The Dietary Aide has daily interactions with the residents of our community. Helps to clean work areas, wash dishes, pans and utensils.

The Dietary Aide complies with infection control, safety and sanitation functions of the facility. Ensures that food storage and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner, and that equipment and supplies are properly maintained. The Dietary Aide handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations, and reports immediately all violations of safety or sanitation rules to supervisor.
