Job summary

East Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in the North East Bronx is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to support residents' nutritional needs with care and attention. You will prepare meals, follow dietary guidelines, and maintain safe food handling while delivering service in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Prior healthcare food service experience is a plus, with weekend/holiday shifts possible and competitive compensation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages following dietary guidelines and procedures.
• Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met at all times.
• Deliver meals to residents, following special dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Take inventory of kitchen supplies and assist with restocking.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including kitchen maintenance and general cleaning tasks.
• Assist in setting up and taking down dining areas before and after meals.
• Stay up to date on facility-specific dietary procedures, including state regulations.
• Support educational programs on nutrition and dietary wellness as needed.

East Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a 200-bed facility proudly serving the North East Bronx community. We provide short-term rehabilitation, sub-acute care, long-term nursing care, and in-house hospice services. Caring is our Commitment is more than just a motto-it's our culture. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages following dietary guidelines and procedures.

• Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met at all times.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a nursing home, rehabilitation center, hospital, or healthcare facility preferred.
• Prior food service experience preferred.
• Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, and transport food trays, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays when required.
