Job summary

Mocksville Senior Living and Memory Care is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will assist with meal service, support dining experiences, and follow dietary plans and safety protocols.

The role emphasizes compassion for the elderly, teamwork, and strong communication. Prior food service experience is preferred, and on-site kitchen teamwork will ensure resident satisfaction every day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required).
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation, portioning, and serving to residents per dietary plans.
• Maintain kitchen and dining area sanitation; wash dishes and equipment.
• Provide meal assistance to residents and help with setup and serving.
• Follow food safety protocols for safe storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Assist in receiving, storing inventory, and reporting shortages.
• Collaborate with the dietary team to ensure smooth operation and resident satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
