Job summary

Methodist Hospital is seeking a Dietary Aide, Union to join our patient-focused food service team. This 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) role covers patient meals, cafeteria service and dish room duties, with occasional catering support, all aimed at delivering safe, tasty meals and compassionate service to patients and families.

Preferred candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, food service experience, and the ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech.

Qualifications

• Food service experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken word.
• Ability to perform simple cash transactions.
• ServSafe certification a plus (training offered after hire).

Position Summary

The Dietary Aide performs a variety of patient food service, cafeteria food service and dish room duties, as well as catered tasks and other related tasks. The Dietary Aide, Union is expected to provide exceptional customer service.

Work Schedule

FTE 0.5, 20 hours per week, variable start times, days/evenings, every other weekend.

Preferred Qualifications

High school education or equivalent preferred, but is not required, food service experience preferred. Must be able to communicate effective via the written and spoken word. Must be able to perform simple cash transactions. Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients. Servsafe certification a plus (which will be offered after the employee is hired).
