Job summary

Birchwood Health & Rehab in Sarasota, FL is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to support our dining services team in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. This part-time role primarily covers evening shifts (3 PM–8 PM) with varying hours, contributing to a safe, clean dining environment that supports resident comfort and well-being.

You’ll assist with serving meals, maintaining sanitation, and helping with meal prep and tray delivery, while following all food handling guidelines

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous food service experience preferred, but training is available
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team‑oriented attitude
• Basic knowledge of food handling, storage, and sanitation
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

• Assist in serving meals and beverages to residents, patients, and guests
• Maintain clean and organized kitchen and dining areas following sanitation and safety standards
• Deliver and retrieve meal carts, trays, plates, and utensils in a respectful and timely manner
• Support meal preparation, plating, and kitchen organization as needed
• Report supply needs to the appropriate supervisor
• Participate in ongoing training related to dietary procedures and resident needs
• Follow all food handling, infection control, and safety guidelines
