Job summary

Middletown Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Middletown, NY is seeking a Dietary Aide (Food Service) to join our caring nursing team. We offer NEW HIGHER RATES and EXCELLENT benefits, with no dietary aide/food service experience required.

Part-time schedules with some weekend availability are available. Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals, cleaning up after meals, washing dishes, and maintaining safe food handling practices.

Qualifications

• Some high school education required.
• Experience in healthcare kitchen preferred but not required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and harmoniously with staff.
• Working knowledge of food service techniques and sanitation.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• COVID-19 vaccinations encouraged but not mandated.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food, serve residents, clean up after meals, and wash dishes.
• Prepare cold and hot foods and beverages according to diets and recipes.
• Assemble trays according to prescribed diets and serve resident tray line and dining room.
• Take inventory and deliver nourishments to nursing unit pantries at designated times.
• Handle food in a safe manner.
• Deliver and retrieve food carts during meal service.

• Dietary Aide/Food Service Staff must be reliable and dedicated to providing excellent meal service to our residents


• Dietary Aide/Food Service Staff responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare food, serve residents, clean up after meals, and washing dishes


• Proper “in kitchen” preparation and cleaning in regards to the station assigned


• Prepare cold and hot food and beverage items in accordance to diets and recipes


• Dietary Aide/Food Service Staff will assemble trays according to prescribed diets and serve resident tray line and main dining room


• Take inventory and deliver prepared nourishments to nursing unit pantries at designated times for residents’ use


• Handling of food in a safe manner


• Deliver and retrieve food carts to all nursing units during meal service

Requirements

• Some high school education


• Experience working in a kitchen in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required


• Excellent customer service skills


• Work well under pressure & willing to work harmoniously with all staff


• Must have a working knowledge of food service techniques and sanitation


• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required
