Job summary

Hudsonview Center is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to support our food service team. The role involves maintaining clean serving areas, assisting with basic food prep, and delivering meals to residents.

Compensation starts at $16 per hour with benefits including medical, dental, vision, a 401(k), PTO, and overtime opportunities. Weekly events and same‑day pay are also provided, reflecting our team‑oriented culture and commitment to residents' well‑being.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and understand directions in English.
• Previous Food Service Aide experience is helpful.
• Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.

Responsibilities

• Reports at assigned time, in uniform, ready for duty.
• Handles food and equipment per sanitation policies and procedures.
• Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment.
• Delivers food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas, including resident rooms and dining room.
• Serve – in dining rooms.
• Prepare and deliver snacks as directed.
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to department supervisor.
• Ensures residents and families receive high-quality service in a caring atmosphere.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Food Service Aide performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities and equipment. He/she may also assist in some aspects of food preparation.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITLES:

• 1 Reports at assigned time, in uniform, ready for duty;
• 2 Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures;
• 3 Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment;
• 4 Delivers food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas, including resident rooms and dining room, as instructed by supervisor;
• 5 Serve – in dining rooms;
• 6 Prepare and deliver snacks as directed;
• 7 Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures;
• 8 Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to department supervisor;
• 9 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
• 10 Performs related work as assigned.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/ VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1 Ability to read, write, and understand directions in English language. Previous Food Service Aide experience is helpful.

JOB SKILLS:

• 1 Working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.
• 2 Working knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
• 3 Ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified and serve food in an appetizing manner.
• 4 Possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• 5 Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral directions in the English language.
• 6 Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.

PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:

• 1 Interacts with residents, families, visitors and employees.
• 2 Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required.
