Job summary

Viera Health & Rehabilitation Center in Melbourne, FL is seeking a full-time Dietary Aide to assist in meal preparation, service, and cleanup for residents in our skilled nursing facility. You will help ensure nutritious, safely prepared meals in line with dietary guidelines and physician orders.

Responsibilities include portioning food, serving meals to residents with special diets, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and collaborating with dietary staff and the healthcare team to meet residents'

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• At least one year Skilled Nursing experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion food items according to menus and dietary plans.
• Serve meals and beverages to residents, including those with special dietary needs (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, pureed diets).
• Assist residents who may need help eating (in some facilities).
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and food prep areas.
• Follow proper food safety and sanitation guidelines (per Florida health standards).
• Store food properly and monitor temperatures.
• Work with dietary staff and healthcare team to meet residents’ nutritional needs.
• Report any issues with food quality or resident intake.
