Job summary

Capistrano Senior Living in San Juan Capistrano, CA is seeking a positive Dietary Aide to support meal preparation and service for residents. You will assist the Dietician and kitchen staff, maintain sanitation, and help ensure meals meet dietary needs with care and attention to safety.

This entry-level role offers training and a collaborative team environment within a community-focused campus known for quality resident care and engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dietician / Dietary Management and Cook as requested.
• Help with meal preparation in accordance with residents' dietary needs.
• Assist in serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Timely setting up of meal service and delivery of meal trays and food carts.
• Follow established portion controls.
• Adhere to sanitation and food safety guidelines during meal preparation and cleanup.
• Keep work areas clean, including tables, blocks, refrigerators/freezers.
• Sweep and mop floors; dishwashing and cleaning of utensils.
• Return clean dishes to proper storage areas.
• Dispose of waste per facility regulations.
• Obtain food supplies for the next meal.
• Follow safety regulations and report exposures to hazards to a supervisor.

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Dietician / Dietary Management and Cook as requested
• Helping with meal preparation in accordance with the dietary needs of the residents
• Assisting in serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
• Timely setting up of meal service and delivery of meal trays and food carts
• Following the established portion controls recommended
• Adhering to sanitation and food safety guidelines during meal preparation and clean up
• Keeping worktables clean, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Dishwashing and cleaning of utensils
• Returning clean dishes and utensils to the proper storage areas
• Carrying out of garbage
• Disposing of food and waste per facility regulations
• Obtaining food supplies for the next meal
• Following safety regulations and precautions at all times
• Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediatelyAdhering to all facility policies and procedures of the facility
• Maintaining confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information
