Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management is seeking a full-time Food Service Assistant to support meal preparation, service, and cleanup in the nursing center and at associated events. You will assist cooks, prepare nourishments, desserts, salads, and beverages, and follow standardized procedures.

The role involves setting up dining areas, serving meals to patients, reading tray tickets, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen and dining space. Equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

• Assists cook as directed by the food service director
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entre foods into dishes; pours beverages
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate
• Sets dining room tables for meals when assigned
• Works on meal tray serving line. Sets-up before start of meal service. Breaks down area and cleans-up at end of serving line
• Reads and follows tray tickets when serving meals.
• Serves meal trays to patient and pours beverages for patients when assigned to dining room
• Clears tables of dishes and trash
• Pushes food carts to appropriate patient care areas
• Communicates with patients during meal times when serving in dining areas

Your Job Summary

Performs a variety of tasks usually not requiring cooking skills in the preparation, service, and clean up for meals served to patients and staff in the nursing center and other special events.

Food Preparation/Production Responsibilities

Assists cook as directed by the food service director

Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures
