Job Title: Dietary Aide at Homestead Post Acute

Job Overview

The dietary aide's responsibilities are based on the daily needs during the shift. The role reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor.

Responsibilities

1. Learn food service routines quickly.
2. Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals.
3. Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
4. Check and record water temperature and chlorine levels of the dishwashing machine at the start of each shift.
5. Operate the dishwasher and monitor water temperatures during cycles.
6. Prepare nourishments and snacks.
7. Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing the kitchen and work surfaces.
8. Carry out trash disposal and organize groceries safely.
9. Assist in training new dietary staff and work harmoniously with all departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and technical procedures.
• Effective communication skills to interact with managers and staff.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts like fractions and percentages.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions.
• Must obtain and maintain a food handler's certificate.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
