Job Description

The Dietary Aide performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department and reports to the Dietary Manager or Cook in their absence.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred; previous institutional dietary service experience is a plus.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with interruptions.
• Good motor coordination and manual dexterity for food prep, serving, cleaning, and operating dietary equipment.
• Flexible hours availability, patience, and tolerance towards staff, residents, and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform work routines using dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist in meal preparation and service, meet scheduled meal times.
• Follow federal and state regulations, facility policies, and cleaning schedules.
• Assist with tray setup, food loading, serving, and dishwashing.
• Lift up to 50 lbs, report maintenance issues, and follow emergency procedures.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Respect residents’ dignity, report grievances, and maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
