Job summary

Huntsville Rehabilitation and Wellness in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Dietary Aide to help feed residents and support daily meals. You’ll prepare and serve meals, keep areas clean, and ensure safety and quality in a team-oriented kitchen.

No healthcare experience required; we train the right person. Shifts: 5a-1:30p and 12p-8:30p; full-time. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Food service or kitchen experience preferred but not required; training provided.
• ServSafe or food handler certification is a plus.
• Ability to follow written menus and diet orders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and beverages per menus and diet orders.
• Set up trays and dining areas and assist with meal service.
• Follow diets, textures, and fluid restrictions as ordered.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Receive, store, and label food and supplies properly.
• Work with nursing staff to communicate resident needs.

At Huntsville Rehabilitation and Wellness, mealtime is one of the best parts of our residents’ day, and our Dietary Aides help make it happen. You’ll prepare and serve meals, keep our kitchen clean and safe, and get to know the residents you serve. We’re looking for dependable, friendly team members who take pride in their work and enjoy helping others. No healthcare experience required.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages according to menus and residents’ diet orders
• Set up trays and dining areas, and assist with meal service in the dining room and on the units
• Follow special diets, textures, and fluid consistencies exactly as ordered
• Wash dishes, pots, and utensils, and keep work areas, equipment, and storage areas clean and sanitized
• Receive, store, label, and date food and supplies properly
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
• Treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect
• Work as part of the dietary team and communicate with nursing staff about resident needs

What You’ll Need

• Food service or kitchen experience preferred but not required; we will train the right person
• ServSafe or food handler certification a plus
• Ability to follow written menus, diet orders, and instructions
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
• Reliable attendance and a positive, team-first attitude
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
