This position involves assisting in all areas of meal preparation, following standardized recipes and food handling procedures. The role includes preparing food according to prescribed diet specifications and assisting with kitchen cleanliness.

Job Duties

1. Prepare between-meal nourishments and serve according to procedural guidelines.
2. Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food at line stations for smooth meal service.
3. Ensure all nourishments are delivered on time and properly stored.
4. Handle all food properly, record, and maintain food temperature checks.
5. Place food on trays or plates according to menu and diet requirements.
6. Perform final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing.
7. Obtain and label food supplies for the next meal.
8. Offer menu substitutions when items are out of stock.
9. Taste, smell, and observe all foods to confirm recipes and flavor.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand instructions, recipes, and diet orders.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines and sanitation practices.
• Knowledge of clinical diets.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of related experience.

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs., including pushing/pulling patients on beds or stretchers, lateral transfers, and patient transport. Frequent standing and walking, with potential kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR as role-specific activities.
