Job summary

Civita Care Meadowbrook in Granby, CT is hiring a per-diem Dietary Aide to join our culinary team. Training provided, shift 3:30pm-7:30pm, weekly pay.

As a Dining Services Assistant you will follow diet orders, ensure serving temperatures, assist with meal delivery, and help maintain sanitation. We value teamwork and compassionate care for residents.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Able to follow oral and written communication.
• Maintain sanitation and storage of dining areas; ensure order and safety.
• Be patient, tactful and enthusiastic with residents.
• Willing to adopt new dietary practices.
• Able to interact tactfully with staff, residents, families and the public.

Responsibilities

• Follow therapeutic diet cards as ordered by the physician.
• Ensure proper serving temperature of the food and beverages.
• Assure delivery on a timely basis.
• Maintain visual appeal of the food and emphasis on garnishes.
• Adhere to daily nourishment list and stock nourishment stations.
• Assist the cook in monitoring meal serving times.
• Adhere to sanitation and storage policy and procedure.
• Other duties assigned by the dining director.

No experience is necessary. On-the-job training provided. 3:30p-7:30p, weekly pay.

As a Dining Services Assistant, your duties and responsibilities include:

Specific Requirements:

• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of the dining service areas; must perform regular inspections of dietary services areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.

• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.

• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing dietary practices.

• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
