Job summary

Geneva Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Geneva is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in all nutrition service functions under the Director of Food Service. You will help provide nourishing, well-balanced meals and a pleasant dining experience while following center policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include food prep, serving meals, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety standards. Prior long-term care or institutional food service is preferred, with a supportive leadership

Qualifications

• Knowledge and ability in food service preparation and cleanup.
• Verbal and written English communication skills.
• Position requires prolonged standing, bending, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all food procedures are followed.
• Prepare food using proper handling and safety techniques.
• Maintain proper food temperatures during prep and service.
• Assist in daily cleaning duties in food service.
• Assist in serving meals and beverages on time.
• Maintain clean and orderly food storage areas.
• Label, date and store food properly.
• Maintain a clean sanitary work area and equipment.
• Prepare dining room for service.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures.
• Deliver snacks as directed.
• Report hazards or injuries to supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides assistance in all nutrition service functions as directed by the Director of Food Service in accordance with the center’s standards and procedures, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Assists with providing nourishing, attractive, well-balanced meals and a pleasant dining experience. Must follow company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires demonstrated knowledge and ability in food service preparation and clean up. Verbal and written English communication skills. Position requires prolonged standing, frequent bending, walking, stooping, lifting, stretching, moving heavy items, and lifting/ carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous long term care experience or institutional food service preferred.

JOB DUTIES
