Job summary

Fundamental is seeking a Dietary Aide to help prepare and serve meals to patients and long-term residents. You will work to ensure meals align with diet orders and patient preferences, contributing to a positive dining experience.

This role offers both full-time and part-time shifts (6am–2pm, 1pm–8pm) in a friendly facility setting, with emphasis on teamwork, safety, and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required.
• Food handler’s permit preferred by local rules.
• Experience in food prep/service in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.
• Must be able to speak, understand, and write fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and/or service of meals for patients, staff, and events as directed.
• Serve food according to planned menu and patient/resident preferences/diet orders.
• Assist the cook with portioning and safe handling of food per menus and diet orders.
• May wash dishes when needed or directed by the Dietary Manager.

Posted Salary Range

USD $14.00 - USD $16.00 /Hr.

Wage Commensuration

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and/ or service of meals/ food for patients, employees, and special events as instructed by the Dietary Manager.
• Serve food and snacks according to the planned menu/spreadsheet and the patient’s/resident's food preferences and diet order.
• Assist the Cook by ensuring the food prepared/and or pre-portioned using proper food handling/ safety techniques and is of proper quantity, completed on time as scheduled, and is in accordance with the menu & residents’ diet order.
• May wash dishes, etc. when necessary or when instructed to do so by the Dietary Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must possess, as a minimum, High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D
• Food handler’s permit preferred according to local regulatory requirements
• Experience in food prep and service within a skilled nursing or long term care facility strongly preferred
• Must be able to speak, understand, and write in fluent English
• Reliable transportation required
