Job summary

Stonecroft Assisted Living is seeking a friendly Dietrary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high-quality meals for residents. You will support meal preparation, serve meals according to dietary plans, and assist in maintaining a clean dining environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain kitchen and dining areas clean and organized; wash dishes and equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance and ensure a positive dining experience for residents.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols including storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies; notify shortages or needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and meal service.
• Resident Engagement: Fulfill special dietary requests and respect residents' preferences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.

• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.

• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.

• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.

• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.

• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)

• Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required)

• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team

• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly

• Excellent communication and customer service skills
