Job summary

Apple Rehab Middletown, a 70-bed skilled nursing facility in Middletown, CT, is hiring a Dietary Aide. The role supports meal preparation, dining area cleanup, and inventory tasks, with daily resident interactions.

The Dietary Aide complies with infection control, safety and sanitation rules and helps maintain safe storage and handling of supplies. You will assist with receiving, rotating and storing of supplies and food, and you'll communicate professionally with residents, staff and families.

Qualifications

• Must be able to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop and stretch.
• Able to unload and stock groceries up to 50 lbs.
• Read and follow English instructions; communicate professionally with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of meals and snacks and clean dining areas.
• Receive, rotate and store supplies and food.
• Interact daily with residents and maintain a clean, safe dining environment.
• Ensure infection control and sanitation compliance.

Job Description:

Dietary Aide

The Dietary Aide assists in preparation of meals and snacks as well as clean up of dining areas. Assists with receiving, rotating and storing of supplies and food. The Dietary Aide has daily interactions with the residents of our community. Helps to clean work areas, wash dishes, pans and utensils.

The Dietary Aide complies with infection control, safety and sanitation functions of the facility. Ensures that food storage and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner, and that equipment and supplies are properly maintained. The Dietary Aide handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations, and reports immediately all violations of safety or sanitation rules to supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Ability to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop and stretch.
• Ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights and to lift large items up to 50lbs.
• Ability to write and record data, to read and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in cases of emergency.
• Ability to communicate with residents, staff, family members in a professional manner.
