Apple Rehab Middletown is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal preparation and dining room operations. You will assist with receiving, rotating and storing supplies and interact daily with residents.

This role emphasizes sanitation, infection control and safe food handling. Candidates should be able to lift and move supplies, follow instructions, and communicate professionally with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Capable of writing and recording data in English.
• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in emergencies.
• Professional communication with residents, staff, and family.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of meals and snacks and cleans dining areas.
• Assists with receiving, rotating and storing supplies and food.
• Interacts daily with residents of the community.
• Cleans work areas, washes dishes, pans and utensils.
• Follows infection control, safety and sanitation procedures.

Job Description

Dietary Aide

The Dietary Aide assists in preparation of meals and snacks as well as clean up of dining areas. Assists with receiving, rotating and storing of supplies and food. The Dietary Aide has daily interactions with the residents of our community. Helps to clean work areas, wash dishes, pans and utensils.

The Dietary Aide complies with infection control, safety and sanitation functions of the facility. Ensures that food storage and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner, and that equipment and supplies are properly maintained. The Dietary Aide handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations, and reports immediately all violations of safety or sanitation rules to supervisor.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop and stretch.
• Ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights and to lift large items up to 50lbs.
• Ability to write and record data, to read and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in cases of emergency.
• Ability to communicate with residents, staff, family members in a professional manner.
