Job summary

Polaris-Healthcare is hiring for a part-time kitchen assistant to support daily meal preparation and event service. You will work with the Cook or Food Service Director to follow daily menus and help maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

The role involves assisting in special events, serving meals, storing food properly, and supporting residents with dining room activities. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods assigned by the Cook or Food Service Director, using daily menus.
• Assist in preparing foods for special event's.
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment.
• Store food properly for infection control.
• Participate in serving food.
• Clean tables during and after meals.
• Reset tables for the next meal.
• Prepare beverages before meals.
• Clean equipment, appliances, floors, drains, storage area,
• Refrigerator, freezer and sinks according to schedule.
• Sweep clean and mop kitchen after each meal.
• Stack, soak and run dish machine.
• Soak and clean pots and pans.
• Put away clean dishes, pots and pans.
• Work with resident volunteers in the dining room.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by Management Team
