Job summary

ISH Dining Services is hiring for a Food Service Aide in a healthcare setting. The role supports kitchen operations, assists in meal preparation, transports trays, and helps maintain sanitary areas to ensure safe and efficient service to residents.

Positions are available in full-time and part-time formats. Applicants should follow facility procedures and collaborate with the Food Service leadership to meet resident needs during shifts.

Qualifications

• Continuously cleans food service work areas during service.
• Labels nourishment and transports them to resident floors.
• Transports trays and carts to and from resident floors.
• Uses equipment per manufacturer instructions and cleaning protocols.
• Handles, stores and disposes of food supplies per procedures and regulations.
• Adheres to infection control policies to maintain sanitary areas.
• Communicates with Director of Food Service or Assistant Director as needed.
• Attends survey trainings and interacts with state surveyors as instructed.
• Participates in in-service education and applies training to tasks.

We are hiring Full-time & Part-time positions

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Food service or the Assistant Food Service Director, the Food Service Aide works in the kitchen assisting in the preparation and service of food and follows a cleaning schedule. The service of food may include the transporting of food trays to the nursing units.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares and/or assists in preparation of meals, snacks and beverages.
• Responsible for or assists in assembling trays, cleaning and storage of supplies and equipment.
• Continuously cleans food service work areas as food preparation and service is done.
• Labels nourishment and sends or transports them to resident floors.
• Transporting trays and carts to or from the resident floors.
• Uses all equipment according to manufacturer instructions. Follow proper cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies and prepares food in accord with department procedures and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Follows facility policies and procedures for infection control at all times to maintain sanitary preparation and storage areas. Uses personal protective equipment when indicated. Follow facility procedures for resident trays that require special handling.
• Communicates with Director of Food Service or Assistant Director of Food Service throughout shift as needed to best meet needs of residents.
• Assists department head with preparation for state inspections. Attends survey training. Interacts with state surveyors as instructed by supervisor.
• Attends in-service education as assigned. Applies information to job tasks.
