Job summary

East Towne in Charlotte, NC, is looking for a friendly Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high-quality meals for residents. You will assist with meal service, portioning, and supporting residents during dining hours.

You will help maintain kitchen cleanliness, follow food safety practices, and work closely with the dietary team to meet residents' dietary needs and preferences. A high school diploma is required; previous food service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow food safety protocols including storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Assist with inventory and reporting shortages or needs to Dietary Manager.
• Collaborate with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Assist with fulfilling special dietary requests and resident preferences during meals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.


• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.


• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.


• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.


• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.


• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.


• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)


• Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required)
