Birchwood Terrace, located in Burlington, Vermont, is looking to hire a Dietary Aide! Position Summary: The Dietary Aide assists the Cook in the preparation and service of meals. Responsibilities include:

1. Placing prepared food on plates/trays according to tray tickets, following established policies and procedures.
2. Ensuring quality food service at all times under the guidance of the Food Services Director/Manager or Cook.
3. Preparing and delivering food and trays.
4. Washing dishes and cleaning/sanitizing the kitchen according to health standards.

The Dietary Aide must be detail-oriented, well-groomed, professional, and a team player who works well with others.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Specialized training in food service is desirable.
3. Ability to read, speak, understand English, follow directions, and complete tasks.
4. Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
5. Dependable, with experience in facilities utilizing quantity food production methods.
6. General knowledge of nutrition.
7. Ability to read and accurately apply requirements of food tray cards.
8. Good written and oral communication skills.
9. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and serving techniques.
10. Ability to interact positively with residents, clients, personnel, and the public.
11. Physical ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds, push/pull up to 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, walk for extended periods.
