Job summary

Citadel Healthcare in Bourbonnais, IL seeks a Dietary Aide to join our team. You will assist with serving meals to residents, maintaining meal presentation, and following sanitation guidelines in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include tray setup, daily cleaning tasks, and adhering to portion controls. Prior kitchen/industrial dishwasher experience is a plus; HS diploma preferred but not required. We offer growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Job description

The Citadel of Bourbonnais is seeking a Dietary Aide to join their team! The Dietary Aide is responsible for serving residents’ meals and cleaning routines for the dietary department.

Dietary Aide Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance on a timely basis.
• Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Sweeps and mops floors as directed.
• Washes and cleans utensils as directed.
• Sets up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.
• All other duties as assigned.

Dietary Aide Qualifications and Skills:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Must be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to follow sanitation process and maintain cleanliness standards

Dietary Aide Education and Experience:

• Experience operating an industrial dishwasher and the sanitation process of the kitchen, preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Experience in industrial food production preferred.
• Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
