Job summary

Citadel Healthcare is seeking a Dietary Aide to support residents with meals and maintain daily cleaning routines in the dietary department. The role emphasizes serving palatable meals, following portion controls, and assisting with general kitchen sanitation.

Candidates should be able to read and communicate in English, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and follow established sanitation practices. Prior food service in long-term care is a plus, with HS diploma preferred but not required.

The Citadel of Northbrook is seeking a Dietary Aide to join their team! The Dietary Aide is responsible for serving residents’ meals and cleaning routines for the dietary department.

Dietary Aide Duties and Responsibilities

• Serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance on a timely basis.
• Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Sweeps and mops floors as directed.

Dietary Aide Qualifications and Skills

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Must be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to follow sanitation process and maintain cleanliness standards

Dietary Aide Education and Experience

• Experience operating an industrial dishwasher and the sanitation process of the kitchen, preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Experience in industrial food production preferred.
• Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
