Job summary

Hillside Heights in Amarillo, TX is hiring a FT Dietary Aide to support meal preparation and service for patients and residents. Shifts run 12:00 PM–8:00 PM, offering an opportunity to contribute to daily nourishment and comfort in a caring environment.

You will assist the Dietary Manager, follow menu orders, maintain food safety standards, and work as part of a friendly team dedicated to making mealtimes enjoyable and stress-free for those we serve.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to speak, understand, and write in fluent English.
• Experience in food prep and service in healthcare settings is preferred.
• Food handler's permit preferred where required by local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and service of meals for patients and residents.
• Serve food according to planned menus and diet orders.
• Help the Cook with portioning and safe food handling.
• May wash dishes and perform related tasks as directed.

Posted Salary Range

USD $13.00 - USD $14.00 /Hr.

Wage Commensuration

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and/ or service of meals/ food for patients, employees, and special events as instructed by the Dietary Manager.
• Serve food and snacks according to the planned menu/spreadsheet and the patient’s/resident's food preferences and diet order.
• Assist the Cook by ensuring the food prepared/and or pre-portioned using proper food handling/ safety techniques and is of proper quantity, completed on time as scheduled, and is in accordance with the menu & residents’ diet order.
• May wash dishes, etc. when necessary or when instructed to do so by the Dietary Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must possess, as a minimum, High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D
• Food handler’s permit preferred according to local regulatory requirements
• Experience in food prep and service within a skilled nursing or long term care facility strongly preferred
• Must be able to speak, understand, and write in fluent English
• Reliable transportation required
