Job summary

Fundamental is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal preparation and service for patients and residents. You will follow planned menus, accommodate diet orders, and assist kitchen staff to ensure timely, safe, and appetizing meals in a long-term care setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, fluent English, and reliable transportation. Prior food service in a skilled nursing environment is preferred, with opportunities for growth and team-based work culture.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Fluent in English (speak, understand, and write).
• Food handler’s permit preferred per local requirements.
• Experience in food prep/service in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and service of meals for patients, staff, and events.
• Serve food according to planned menus and diet orders.
• Assist the cook with portioning and safe food handling.
• May wash dishes when needed by the Dietary Manager.

Posted Salary Range

USD $13.50 - $15.00 /Hr.

Wage Commensuration

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and/or service of meals/food for patients, employees, and special events as instructed by the Dietary Manager.
• Serve food and snacks according to the planned menu/spreadsheet and the patient’s/resident’s food preferences and diet order.
• Assist the Cook by ensuring the food prepared/and/or pre-portioned using proper food handling/safety techniques and is of proper quantity, completed on time as scheduled, and is in accordance with the menu & residents’ diet order.
• May wash dishes, etc. when necessary or when instructed to do so by the Dietary Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must possess, as a minimum, High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
• Food handler’s permit preferred according to local regulatory requirements.
• Experience in food prep and service within a skilled nursing or long term care facility strongly preferred.
• Must be able to speak, understand, and write in fluent English.
• Reliable transportation required.
