Job summary

Lexington Health's Nutrition Services team member communicates knowledgeably to patients on modified diet guidelines, including reasons for diet orders, allowable foods, and helping patients select accurate meals.

They serve as a liaison between patients and Nutrition Services to ensure individualized meal options and partner with patient care staff to keep current diet information accurate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1 year of past customer service experience.
• Knowledge of modified diets and why they are used.
• Knowledge of Cbord and/or Epic systems.
• Medical Terminology training/experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication, including conflict resolution.
• Superior customer service and effective telephone communication.
• Basic mathematical competency for measurements.
• Proficient with Windows-based applications and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Direct interaction with infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Manages Room Service Call Center; explains ordering process and diet guidelines.
• Communicates food production needs to Nutrition Services production staff.
• Maintains professional image and strong customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
• Demonstrates courtesy, compassion and respect; adheres to service policies.
• Communicates information to all ages and responds to patient requests.
• Works independently and adheres to deadlines; demonstrates organizational skills.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
