Job summary

PIH Health Whittier Hospital is seeking a Diet Clerk to support the nutritional care of patients by processing diet orders, obtaining patient menu selections via the CBord system, and correcting menus to meet physician orders. You ll ensure the selections align with prescribed diets and communicate clearly with kitchen staff.

Working within the PIH Health network, you will check tray line accuracy against patient menus and orders, support high quality food service, and contribute to patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English and do simple math.
• Minimum 6 months experience in hospital diet office; knowledge of modified diets.
• Able to process diet orders, tube feedings, diet changes and NPO orders accurately; trayline checks.

Responsibilities

• Process diet orders and tube feedings as prescribed.
• Obtain patient menu selections via CBord and adjust to meet physician orders.
• Check tray line accuracy against patient menu and diet order.
• Communicate with care teams to ensure high quality food service.
