Job summary

PIH Health Whittier Hospital is seeking a Diet Clerk to support the nutritional care of patients.

You will process diet orders, select menus via CBord, adjust menus to physician orders, and verify tray accuracy for each patient.

The role requires good communication, basic math, and knowledge of modified diets; hospital diet office experience is preferred. Day shifts, on-site compensation provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English and do simple math.
• Minimum 6 months experience working in hospital diet office; knowledge of modified diets required.
• Able to process diet orders, tube feedings, diet changes and NPO orders accurately.
• Intermediate computer skills; Computrition/CBord experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Process diet orders and modify patient menus as prescribed.
• Check tray line for accuracy against patient menu selections and diet orders.
• Communicate with dietary and food service teams to ensure high quality patient meals.
