Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a dietary services support role to update patient menus, manage inventory of menus and office supplies, and handle data entry related to patient menu selections. You will interact with patients, nurses, and physicians to resolve inquiries and ensure diet orders are accurate.

The role requires working knowledge of regular and therapeutic diets, strong communication, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equiv.
  • Technical/Vocational School preferred.
  • 1+ year experience in acute care setting preferred.
  • Certified Food Safety Manager (CFSM) preferred.
  • Food Handler Certificate (FHC) preferred.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Update patient menus consistently to reflect changes in diet orders, discharges, and transfers, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain sufficient stock of patient menus and office supplies to support uninterrupted and efficient service delivery.
  • Perform data entry and computer-based tasks with precision while taking patient menu selections and resolving inquiries from patients, nurses, and physicians.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of regular and therapeutic diets to support accurate menu planning and patient nutrition care.
  • Communicate dietary consults, referrals, and other critical information promptly to the Nutrition Services Team to ensure coordinated care.

Job Description:

Update patient menus consistently to reflect changes in diet orders, discharges, and transfers, maintaining accuracy and compliance. Maintain sufficient stock of patient menus and office supplies to support uninterrupted and efficient service delivery.   • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. [Required]
  • Ability to use common software applications and hardware (e.g., iPad, ToughBook). [Required]
  • Knowledge of Diet Office in the healthcare setting. [Preferred]
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish). [Preferred]
Education
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Work Experience
  • 1+ of experience in acute care setting [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications
