Job summary

Salem Leasing is seeking Diesel Mechanics to repair trucks, trailers, and other vehicles across our shop network. Our 55+ years of transportation excellence underline a commitment to people who keep our fleet moving. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of diesel maintenance experience, and must provide their own hand tools.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience.
Must have own hand tools.
CDL license preferred.

Responsibilities

Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
Repair, reline, replace & adjust brakes.
Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined & other potentially troublesome areas.
Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals & experience.
Communicate with driver to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems.
Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services.
Repair manual & automatic transmissions.
Replace & adjust headlights.
Comply with all safety, DOT & OSHA guidelines.
Adhere to company rules & regulations.
Ensure cleanliness of shop & surrounding areas.
