Job summary

Florida Detroit Diesel Allison is seeking a Truck Shop Diesel Mechanic to diagnose problems and perform standard repairs at the customer’s location on customer equipment, including transmissions and subassemblies.

The role requires diagnosing issues, ordering parts, and performing routine maintenance while ensuring quality and safety standards. Strong communication and laptop/diagnostic tool proficiency are essential to support customer needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 2–4 years related experience.
• Technical certification in automotive and/or diesel engine repair required.
• Proficient with laptop computers and portable diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose standard problems with customer’s equipment.
• Identify and order parts necessary to complete repairs and routine maintenance.
• Perform standard repairs on customer’s equipment and replace parts as necessary.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment according to established guidelines and schedules.
• Complete all work orders and time sheets accurately and promptly.
• Provide assistance to more senior Shop Technicians on larger jobs.
