Job summary

Michigan Kenworth in Saginaw, MI is seeking entry level and experienced diesel truck mechanics to repair, troubleshoot, and maintain Class 8 trucks. Responsibilities include diagnostics, documentation, and ensuring repairs meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; technical degree preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret shop repair orders, manuals, and schematics.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy duty vehicles.
• Troubleshoots electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine, and suspension systems.
• Writes clear repair order descriptions of causes and procedures.
• Uses diagnostic equipment to detect faults and interprets test results.
• Communicates with Shop Foreman and parts to obtain necessary components.
• Performs road tests to verify repairs and problem isolation.
• Keeps accurate records of hours and repair steps on the Repair Order.
• Interacts with customers professionally and assists other technicians as needed.
