Job summary

North Central International - Glencoe is seeking a Service Technician to perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and components in alignment with manufacturer standards and dealership procedures.

The role involves reading repair orders, preparing work areas, securing parts and tools, documenting findings, and ensuring each vehicle is restored to a safe, fully functional condition. Attention to detail and commitment to quality service are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a vocational or technical program in automotive or diesel technology preferred.
• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL or ability to obtain one preferred.
• ASE certification(s) preferred.
• OEM or dealer-specific certifications (e.g., International) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review repair orders to understand tasks and documentation.
• Clock on/off repair orders to track time and work performed.
• Prepare vehicle for service, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
• Conduct visual inspections and identify additional service needs.
• Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Document findings, diagnostics, and repairs on the repair order.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and proper tool handling.
• Ensure repairs are completed and vehicle is safe before release.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians as needed.
