Job summary

Kenworth Sales Co. in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Service Technician (2nd Shift) to perform high-quality repairs on customer equipment, following shop standards and DOT compliance.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy truck repair, state certification, CDL, and manufacturer certifications. You will diagnose, advise on further services, and keep precise work records while contributing to a safe, team-oriented shop environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance.
• Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely.
• Reading, writing and comprehension of English instructions and information.

Responsibilities

• Receives repair order assignments from Shop Foreman
• Performs work in order and in a timely and thorough manner with high workmanship standards
• Advises Shop Foreman of recommended changes in services ordered by customer
• Determines additional repairs or servicing to recommend to customer and communicates to Shop Foreman
• Maintains training and experience with equipment and servicing techniques
• Attends training sessions as required by Service Manager
• Performs additional repairs if customer reports faulty workmanship
• Maintains accurate work order records and time clocked jobs.
